Transparency and Citizen ParticipationCitizen Empowerment
Democracy is so much more than electing representatives every four years. The involvement of citizens through participatory processes is
essential if we are to consolidate the democratization of institutions. Our program is a firm and determined commitment to transparency and accountability, to doing politics better, which includes and involves all of us.
We believe that democracy requires participatory and not just representative actions.
In short, we see citizen participation as a right.
Therefore:
- We will promote local community action and associationism for the strengthening and empowerment of citizens.
- We will improve and expand the information and citizen service system, so that it meets the needs of citizens with the minimum possible waiting time and the highest quality response.
- We will create a citizen app to denounce or report incidents, with an intuitive interface that will allow us to catalog possible incidents (broken streetlights, improperly parked cars, rubbish, etc.). Users will take a photo, describe the incident and the corresponding department will receive the notice and communicate it to the municipal brigade. When the incident is resolved, it will send a thank you message to the citizen.
- We will develop appropriate contact channels with newly arrived residents, such as a cultural mediator, who will work for the integration of newcomers in all aspects, helping to promote intercultural awareness.
- We will continue Catalan courses for adults, and expand the range of courses for non-Catalan speakers.
- There will be a guide for newcomers giving a brief history of Sóller, plus information on how to register at Town Hall and for services, information on schools, childcare, and so on
- We will promote intercultural events and food fairs, bringing together the different cultures and nationalities that live together in the municipality.
