Citizen securityPrevention, civility and coexistence
We live at a time of sweeping transformations. On the one hand, we have seen an increase in inequality and urban polarization fostered by a neoliberal economy and urbanism and, on the other, an increase in sociocultural diversity linked to migration, the diversification of lifestyles and other sociocultural changes. Towns should be spaces of residence and resilience, where the public space becomes a space for meeting and solidarity. Public policies can help generate informal networks of sociability that do not result in conflict but, rather, in cohesion.
Therefore:
- We will continue to promote stability among the Local Police personnel, reducing the number of interim agents by creating permanent positions. We will increase the security of the agents who carry out citizen security tasks and we will offer them training in Gender/Equality.
- We will promote the use of tools such as mediation, participation or reparation to facilitate dialogue and coexistence.
- We will incorporate a vision of security and coexistence into all urban projects, promote the non-criminalization of the most vulnerable groups, and foster a gender perspective and cultural and functional diversity.
- We will fight against illegal motorcycle racing, focusing on speed control and reckless driving on the mountain roads of our municipality. We will insist that the relevant authorities take all necessary measures.
