Local shops, Agriculture and Primary SectorLooking after our land and small local businesses

Traditional local shops are threatened by large out-of-town stores and online shopping. The Town Hall must come to their defense. We are committed to a fairer municipality, where local shops and businesses receive the necessary support from the administration. We are committed to a greener, circular  economy. We will promote the recovery of the primary sector and foster its links with  the other productive sectors in our valley. Our local shops and businesses need the support of the Town Hall if they are to be competitive and attractive. We will  promote local markets and fairs, finance local consumption campaigns and collaborate with shopkeepers to strengthen the sector.

Therefore:

• We will finish the renovation of the Municipal Market. We will include offices upstairs and sufficient public toilets downstairs.
• We will offer premises with social rentals on the ground floor of the housing built by IBAVI, aimed at entrepreneurs, cooperatives and young people.
• We will relocate the Sóller 2010 offices to the top floor of the Market, in order to allocate the old Hospital building for the construction of public housing.
• We will encourage commercial initiatives that are committed to selling in bulk / by measure or in returnable containers.
• We will promote agricultural associations and cooperatives.
• We will establish programs for the removal of architectural barriers in tourist establishments and enforce the law in this regard.
• We will promote local agro-ecological products in preschool and childcare centres and activities organized by the Town Hall. We will promote the public purchase of local and agro-ecological production and we will use this as criteria in the awarding of public tenders. We will promote local produce with municipal campaigns to raise awareness about healthy eating and kilometer 0 products.
