TransportTowards a paradigm shift
If asked if it might be possible to live without a car, most of us in the valley would probably say no. Yet in major cities, it’s perfectly possible to live without a private vehicle.
We are committed to a model that promotes public transport and discourages the use of private vehicles. But we need to offer alternatives: a good public transport network. That’s the only way to put pedestrians first and ensure that our town becomes a space for walking.
Therefore:
- We will establish a Low Emissions Zone that will include the urban center, the schools and the nursing home. We are committed to carrying out a study on the movement of cars to later develop a comprehensive mobility plan.
- We will establish a circular electric minibus route covering Port-Sóller-Biniaraix. At night, this service will offer a night route between the Port and Sóller.
- We will promote a network of temporary dissuasive parking lots at the entrance to Sóller and along the Main Road, on disused land, with electric minibus pick-up stops.
- We will prohibit the entry into the urban center of cars belonging to non-residents and rental cars.
- We will work with the regional transport authority, the TIB, to create a new bus route serving Port Sóller and Son Llàtzer / Airport.
- We will ensure the bike lane is created, linking Sóller and the Port safely.
- We will promote the use of car sharing.
